Throwback Thursday: Inca Trail

Laster0-R1-040-18A

Check out that death-defying view and it  IS a death-defying view!  I forgot how scary this trek was and how I hated walking up steep hills and heights.  The heights were not so bad IF I had something to hold on to like a safety line. I remember spending a good deal of the trip hugging the side of the mountain while not daring to look to my right. I did that one time, noticed the beauty and almost fell off the side of the mountain. No mountain rescue, more like mountain recovery. Would I do it again knowing what I know and knowing that my fears have escalated as I’ve gotten older; you bet! This time I’m looking to my right.
