Litha and The Summer Solstice

Happy Summer People!  Time to kick on the AC, the cool drinks, and try not to get into any serious trouble until school starts again.  (well, this is for the teachers, like me) . It’s the first day of summer or you Wiccans out there, Summer Solstice! Litha, Midsummer, or the Summer Solstice honors the longest day of the year. It is the day of the Sun God. The crops are in full growth at this time and wild herbs are fully mature by now. Harvest time is just around the corner. On this Sabbat, the Sun is glorified. That’s why Fire element plays a starring role in this festival. It is an element of transformation. It has the power to destroy and the power to create.

Or you could say whatever, have another cool drink and curse the next few months.  Ah yeah, it’s also hurricane season.  I can think of no better way to “celebrate” than with a classic, throwback to the Wiccan rocker Sully Erna from Godsmack. Here’s a fav video of mine. Enjoy.
