“I find men *very* attractive.”
Got to love this line from a new personal favorite of mine. Yes, I cheated and saw the movie before it was aired on TV, but come one, it’s from the ’40s; you know I saw it already, AND I will see it again this evening.
Hey check out the gams on Helen Grayle and does she not SCREAM femme fatale. So, here’s the plot of the movie
Gumshoe Philip Marlowe (Dick Powell) is hired by the oafish Moose Malloy (Mike Mazurki) to track down his former girlfriend. He’s also hired to accompany an effeminate playboy buy back some jewels. When the exchange results in the playboy’s murder, Marlowe can’t leave the case alone, and soon discovers it’s related to Malloy’s. As he gets drawn deeper into a complex web of intrigue by a mysterious blonde (Claire Trevor), the detective finds his own life in increasing jeopardy.
It’s showing on TCM tonight @ 11 PM CST and again on Sunday morning @ 9AM CST. If you can check out the commentary that Eddie Muller gives before and after the viewing of the movie. If you are a movie but, you will love it and h does a great job of setting up the movie and filling in any bits and pieces you may have missed after the viewing, No, I am not being paid by TCM; I just love old movies. Anyway have a great one and make sure to view the trailer and see the movie.
