Throwback Thursday: Martyrs

The 2008 flick, not that 2016 remake shit!  Can’t comment on the recent one, but baby that 2008 one is SICK!!

You know how some films leave you refreshed afterward? This is certainly not one of those films. I’ll keep this as vague as possible so as not to spoil anything for you. Martyrs follows Anna and Lucia, two women who, years after meeting in an orphanage, return to the site where one of them was tortured.

There’s a whole lot of psychological and metaphysical aspects at play here, but all you need to know is that this film is infamous for its flaying scene. Yes, I said flaying.
